Cookies and storage

What we use

Moonshot Travel uses a minimal set of cookies and local storage. We don't use advertising cookies or track you across other sites. The one analytics cookie we set is our own, described below.

Essential cookies

These are required for the service to function:

• Authentication — Clerk session cookies to keep you signed in
• CSRF protection — security tokens to prevent cross-site request forgery

Local storage

We use browser local storage for:

• Chat history — cached locally for faster loading (also stored server-side)
• UI preferences — banner dismissals, onboarding state
• Push notification subscription — browser push registration data

Analytics

We use PostHog for product analytics. It keeps an anonymous ID in a first-party cookie and in local storage so we can count visits and see which features get used. Once you sign in, that activity is tied to your account ID, never your name, email or phone number. If your browser sends Do Not Track, PostHog records nothing. No data is shared with advertisers.

Third-party cookies

Clerk (authentication) and Stripe (payments) may set their own cookies when you interact with their services. These are governed by their respective privacy policies.

Your choices

You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Clearing authentication cookies will sign you out. Essential cookies cannot be disabled without breaking the service.
